[Specification]
OILLESS #500 (Solid Lubricahts Buried Metal Bearing) OILLESS #500 is a self-lubricating bearing material consisting of a wear resistant copper alloy and cast iron with solid lubricant plugs embedded in the surface. In addition, the sliding surface is provided with a thin, very low friction running-in film. Its performance is exceptional with high loads and slow or occasional oscillation or sliding motion.
[Features] - Usable without lubrication - Exhibits incomparable performance under a high load, low speed operation Excellent wear resistance in such places where an oil film is difficult to be formed due to reciprocating, oscillating motions and frequently intermittent operations - Remarkable resistance to corrosion and resistance to chemical attack - Various dimensions standard products of are available to meet unique design requirements
What are the advantages of OILLESS #500? - Freedom from maintenance through self-lubrication - Maximum static and dynamic carrying capacity - Consistently low coefficient of friction - No stick-slip - Reduces vibrations and allows for quiet running - Long life and maximum economy as a result of its high resistance to wear
When should OILLESS #500 be used? - When freedom from maintenance is requested e.g. for heavily loaded plain bearings (up to 150 N) operating safely and reliably over a long time and at very low to medium speeds (0.001 up to 0.4 m/sec).
Where may OILLESS #500 be used and shat is the operating temperature range? - In all media in which bronze alloys can be used such as sea water and other corrosive media. - The temperature range is from 100 degrees
In which executions and dimensions can OILLESS #500 be manufactured and supplied? - As plain bearings, flanged bearings, spherical bearings, sliding plates, thrust washers up to the largest sizes. - Any type of bearing design can be manufactured on special request.
Applications for OILLESS #500 - Where self-lubricating operation without any oiling device is sustained - Where high load, low speed operation is encountered - Where a general bearing fails to maintain proper oil film due to severe conditions of reciprocating, oscillating or intermittent operations - Excellent performance under vibratory load - Where a bearing is required to withstand at high temperature - Atomic power plants and other locations where bearing is exposed under heavy radiation
